Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
On a yellow diagonally placed square, a red diagonal stripe from upper left to lower right centered, surmounted by a black erect sword, pommel and details gray, between two green laurel branches, all with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The diamond shape embodies wisdom and strength.  The red stripe honors the Groups logistics lineage.  The black sword denotes military readiness and swift response.  The laurel branches symbolize the Groups achievements, high standards and commitment to excellence.  The black border signifies the Homeland Defense mission of the State of Georgia.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 1 July 2016.   (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-1112)




Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall a shield blazoned as follows: Per bend Or and Gules, in chief a laurel wreath Proper, superimposed by a torch and enflamed of the first, in base a sword palewise point up, surmounted on the blade by two keys in saltire wards upward and outward, all of the last; on a chief Celeste, wings conjoined and displayed Or, charged on each wing with a lightning bolt in chevron reversed Gules. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "PROVIDING THE KEYS TO VICTORY" in Gold.

Symbolism
Scarlet and buff are the colors traditionally associated with Support units. The laurel wreath represents achievement and high ideas. The torch symbolizes knowledge and the inextinguishable flame of dedication. The sword denotes military readiness; the keys refer to the Quartermaster control over supplies. The wings suggest the unit's aerial mission and guardianship of the welfare for others. The lightning bolts allude to the unit's quick response to accomplish any task.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 201st Quartermaster Battalion on 10 May 2006. It was redesignated effective 1 September 2007, for the 201st Support Group.
